About Scopello

"When i first came to Scopello, i thought it was the most beautiful place i had ever seen" (Gavin Maxwell)

"Scopello is perhaps the more evocative and colorful place of the entire gulf of Castellammare" (Travelplace.gr).

The small village of Scopello, built up around an old Baglio, is maybe the most beautiful village on the west sicilian coast, with a magnificent view on the cliffs. The coast is characterized by the white singly beach of Baia di Guidaloca, which is part of the amphitheatre-shaped Gulf of Castellammare. It is a strategic base to visit the more important places in western Sicily: the Natural Reserve "Lo Zingaro"(2 km), the medieval town Erice (50 km), Segesta an archeologically Greek Roman site – with an ancient theatre still working in summer, Palermo, the capital of the island, with its ancient monuments and wonderful small islands, as there are: Ustica by ferry from Palermo and Favignana, Levanzo and Marettimo by ferry from Trapani.
